Last year we launched the first-ever industry survey for surface design and through the 347 participants, we gathered an enormous amount of valuable information for our community.
But an industry survey for one single year isn’t enough. In order to provide a more comprehensive view of the state of self-employed artists in our industry, recurring surveys each year are needed.
And that’s why we’ve brought the survey back for 2021!
This year’s survey is bigger, but also more concise and in-depth than last year. However, in order for this survey to be as useful to our community as possible, more participants are needed. In fact, we’ve set a very lofty goal of 750 survey participants but we need your help to reach it!
If you’re a surface designer or have earned at least $1 from art licensing, designing art for companies, or via other popular artist income channels (like Spoonflower or selling your own products), then I’d like to invite you to take our survey.
TAKE THE 2021 SURFACE DESIGN SURVEY
The survey is open through Monday, December 20, 2021.
It should take about 10-15 minutes to fill out, is completely anonymous, and for EVERY designer who finishes the survey, I’m personally donating $3 to charity (up to $2,000 total) — you’ll get to pick inside the survey which charity I’ll donate to on your behalf.
Are you new to the industry and can’t fill out the survey yet?
No worries — you can still help by spreading the word about the 2021 Surface Design Industry Survey! Feel free to send this URL to any of your artist friends or post about it on social media (you can also repost our survey announcement from Instagram in your own feed or stories).
And if you want to snag a copy of last year’s survey results, click here — the PDF will be sent directly to your inbox.
Let’s all help each other raise the bar of pricing and income for our industry together!
